Intermittent Motion Thermal Transfer Printers

The Thermocode Series 2 Intermittent range of on-line Thermal Transfer printers encompasses six models offering print areas from 53 x 53mm to 107 x 160mm. They are suited to packaging, labelling and other machinery where the web material or item to be printed stops once per machine cycle. Intermittent printers print during this stop time.

Continuous Motion Thermal Transfer Printers

The Thermocode Series 2 Continuous range of on-line Thermal Transfer printers are for use on packaging, labelling and other machinery where the substrate material or object to be printed is fed continuously when the parent machine is operating e.g. flow wrappers. They are available in two print widths, 53mm and 107mm, can print images up to 500mm long and can be supplied in right and left handed versions. Continuous printers print only when the substrate is moving.

Thermocode Series 2 printers can be operated locally via the operator interface, directly from a PC via a serial or USB port or they can be added to an existing TCP/IP (Ethernet) network. TCP/IP and USB ports are optional extras on Thermocode Series 2 printers.

Productivity and quality: cycle times count

Many of our competitors place emphasis on their print speed capabilities (mm/second), however in reality it is the total cycle time that is true test of a printers ability to achieve high production rates and maintain print quality. This is particularly true when printing batch and expiry codes, dates, prices and bar codes.

Low Cycle Times
In fact recent trials at major pharmaceutical and food packaging companies have proved that the Open Date Thermocode 2 achieves the highest output speeds with minimal cycle times. The clear advantage of printing at lower speeds is superb print quality and extending printhead life whilst limiting mechanical wear.
